Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: April 1, 2026 Last Updated: June 7, 2026 WCAG 2.1 AA
Section 01

Our Commitment

Dweller IQ is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that every user — regardless of ability — deserves equal access to the information and tools on our platform. We take this obligation seriously, not just as a legal matter, but as the right way to build a product.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility of dwelleriq.com and to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

This statement was last updated on June 7, 2026. We review it periodically and whenever we make significant changes to the site.

Section 02

Conformance Status

Status → Dweller IQ is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Partially conformant means that most of the content conforms to the accessibility standard, but some parts do not yet fully conform. We are actively working to resolve those areas — see Known Limitations below.

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our conformance standard. This is the level referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice as the applicable standard for websites covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

We assess our accessibility through ongoing internal reviews against all four WCAG principles — Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit, and we update this statement as we identify and resolve issues.

Section 03

Technical Specifications

dwelleriq.com relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:

  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • JavaScript (ECMAScript 2019+)
  • WAI-ARIA 1.1

The following browsers and assistive technologies were used in our evaluation:

  • Chrome (latest) with keyboard-only navigation
  • Safari (latest) with VoiceOver on macOS
  • Chrome with NVDA on Windows
  • Safari on iOS with VoiceOver
  • Chrome on Android with TalkBack

Pages were also evaluated for color contrast compliance using the WCAG 2.1 AA ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and graphical elements.

Section 04

What We've Done

The following accessibility improvements were implemented during our May 2026 audit and remediation:

Keyboard Focus Indicators

All interactive elements display a visible 3px focus outline when navigated by keyboard.

WCAG 2.4.7
Color Contrast

All text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal body text throughout the site.

WCAG 1.4.3
Skip Navigation

A "Skip to main content" link is present on every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation.

WCAG 2.4.1
ARIA Landmark Roles

All pages include role="main", <nav>, and <footer> landmarks so screen reader users can jump between page regions.

WCAG 1.3.1
Interactive Component States

All toggles — nav menus, accordions, and FAQs — use aria-expanded and aria-controls to communicate open/closed state to assistive technologies.

WCAG 4.1.2
Decorative Content Hidden

Purely decorative images and UI elements are marked with alt="" or aria-hidden="true" so screen readers skip them.

WCAG 1.1.1
Meaningful Image Alt Text

All informational images have descriptive alternative text that conveys the same information as the image.

WCAG 1.1.1
Form Labels

Every form input is associated with a visible label using <label for="...">, including all login, signup, and contact form fields.

WCAG 1.3.1
Reduced Motion

All animations and transitions are disabled for users with the "Reduce Motion" system preference enabled, via a prefers-reduced-motion media query.

WCAG 2.3.3
Language Declaration

Every page declares lang="en" on the <html> element so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.

WCAG 3.1.1
Unique Page Titles

Every page has a unique, descriptive <title> element so users can identify pages in browser history and tabs.

WCAG 2.4.2
Consistent Navigation

Navigation structure, order, and labeling are consistent across all 73 pages of the site.

WCAG 3.2.3
Section 05

Known Limitations

While we strive for full conformance, the following areas are under active monitoring:

Third-Party Content Certain third-party components — including our payment processor, authentication provider, and reCAPTCHA verification widget — are outside our direct control. We have selected providers with strong accessibility track records, but cannot guarantee full conformance of these embedded services.
Monitoring
Dynamically Generated Content Some article and featured content is populated via JavaScript at page load. This content is accessible to screen readers, but users with JavaScript disabled may not see it. We recommend using a JavaScript-enabled browser for the full experience.
Monitoring

We are committed to resolving any barriers we identify and will update this statement as improvements are made.

Section 06

If you believe we are not meeting these obligations, we encourage you to contact us directly first so we can address the issue. We are committed to working collaboratively to resolve any accessibility barriers.
